Dr. Patrick Martyka is a Board Certified podiatrist in Port Charlotte, and Fort Myers, FL. He holds associate degrees in Applied Science & Emergency Medical Services as well as Bachelors in Biological Science & Biotechnology from Florida Atlantic University. He attended Barry University school of podiatric Medicine serving multiple terms as president of the SALSAL (Save a Limb, Save a Life) organization, regularly lectured at local hospitals, and participated in research involving diabetic amputation prevention as a podiatrist. He was the recipient of several accolades such as the American Podiatric Medical Association Scholarship, the Barry University podiatric academic scholarship, as well as the Dr. Steinberg Limb Salvage Award.
Following graduation Dr. Martyka completed his podiatric medical and surgical residency as Chief Resident with reconstructive rear foot and ankle training at the Bruce W Carter Miami Veterans Affairs Hospital & University of Miami. He received additional surgical training at the South Florida Institute of Sports Medicine as well as Palm Beach Orthopedic Institute. Throughout residency Dr Martyka received extensive training in lower extremity sports medicine, trauma management, diabetic foot care, wound care, limb salvage, and lower extremity reconstruction. He additionally conducted clinical research involving use of stem cell therapy in lower extremity injuries.
Dr Martyka joined Associates in Medicine and Surgery in 2019 and was honored to receive peer nomination to serve as Vice President of the Charlotte County Foot and Ankle Association. He continues to advance the field of podiatry as Site Director and Principal Investigator conducting clinical research on lower extremity soft tissue reconstruction in partnership with innovative biotechnology companies.
Dr. Martyka is a Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric Medicine and serves as Associate Faculty for the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons Fellowship training program.
